Wow! What a ton of tasty things to eat or try for the first time this Christmas! If only i had the metabolism of my younger years, if only there were more room in my full belly…
Ever wish you had more room to enjoy what is so good? In another story, we find Jesus doing exactly that with the temple. After riding into Jerusalem on a donkey’s colt, praises declared of the coming of Messiah, Jesus cleans out the money-makers in the temple. The result: the blind and crippled were healed (and likely stayed to worship) and children were singing praises about Jesus. He had made room for true worship to take place. However, the chief priests and scribes appear to be angry about what has happened, and can’t realize how blind, lame and naïve they are themselves as they chastised Jesus.
Have you made room in the temple of your body and soul for Jesus to be praised? Allow Him to convict you and guide you for the cleansing that is needed. The result will be an amazing revival of room for worship. You will also find yourself being used as a Holy Spirit conduit for others to know more about Jesus too. When that happens, you will find increased joy for worship, love for neighbors, and peace of mind as a by-product.
If we don’t allow Christ to do this regularly, we find ourselves like the chief priests and scribes, blaming Jesus for the joy that others are experiencing in Him, wondering why we don’t have it.
So what will you do?
Matthew 21:14-17--14 And the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them. 15 But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that He had done, and the children who were shouting in the temple, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” they became indignant 16 and said to Him, “Do You hear what these children are saying?” And Jesus *said to them, “Yes; have you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of infants and nursing babies You have prepared praise for Yourself’?” 17 And He left them and went out of the city to Bethany, and spent the night there.
