Ever wrestle with something in your soul for so long that you can hardly remember when the struggle began? This fear, guilt, shame, grief, _____ has held captive. You have tried every remedy, every prayer, read books, perhaps even long-shot superstition. Nothing works.
But what about Jesus? A woman who suffered from her hemorrhage for 12 years had tried all that could be tried. She had spent all she had on doctors and every remedy that could be found. No doubt she had prayed, no doubt that she had tried everything that could be imagined. But then Jesus was there, and on His way somewhere else. Walking away with crowds all around, she managed to use every ounce of strength to reach out toward His back, “If only i can touch His garment,” she thought. And so she did, and immediately, the hemorrhage stopped. Jesus spoke to her moments later, “Daughter, your faith has saved/rescued/healed you.”
In this dark thing of your soul, have you reached the point of this woman’s desperation—“if only i can touch His garment”? There are many stories of Jesus in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. One of these stories has a principle that parallels yours. Look to the words of Christ in this story—and trust His words to apply to you as they apply in the story. The Lord is the same yesterday, today and forever. Come to Jesus and believe in His words and actions. He is there for you too. Peace be with you in His name. May it be so (amen).
Mark 5:34—And [Jesus] said to her, “Daughter, your faith has saved/rescued/healed you. Go in peace and be sound/pure/healed from your affliction.”
