When i was growing up, sometimes in math class, it seemed that everyone understood it, and i didn’t want to be the guy asking a dumb question. So when i did terrible on my homework or test, i had a teacher who was frustrated with me for not asking questions. And she was right!
Jesus told His disciples that He would be turned over to men, but His disciples wouldn’t ask what it meant. They were afraid to find out. Have you ever felt this way? It’s fairly common.
When it comes to spiritual matters with the Lord, it’s normal to feel a bit ignorant. But never let yourself be controlled by fear to not ask a question. Never let fear prevent you from understanding the Lord and His will in some deeper way. Some people are afraid of church or Bible study for fear that they will find out there is something that may need to change. That isn’t freedom! Sometimes we’re even afraid to pray about something or for someone out of the fear of how it may apply to us. That isn’t living by faith, it is living by fear.
The Lord is full of wisdom and is concerned for you. He will guide you if you let Him, present truths to you to follow, but will not make you do anything. If fear prevents you from knowledge and encouraged faith and spirit, then it is fear that controls, not Christ. Turn over to Him, and know peace, freedom, and fresh hope.
